For those of you who have read this blog over the last couple of weeks there has been a concerted effort to take out the Haqqani network in Afghanistan and there have been several success this is just the latest. Thanks to Long War Journal.
The problem is though all the leadership has to do and have done in the past is flee back the tribal areas of Pakistan. I do not think the Pak military is willing or even able to push all the way to the Afghanistan border because in their mind they would be vulnerable to India.
Pakistan is caught in a trap of their own making as they have funded, trained, and sheltered the Taliban, AQ and various Kasmir insurgent groups to give them strategic depth against India and China. Now that the chickens have come home to roost as it where they are having trouble adapting and may not even want to.
